Richmond River stick insect Candovia strumosa "Woonona"
Sold as juveniles – Captive Bred
A small, rainforest species from Southern NSW. They are rather oddly proportioned with a robust body but short, delicate legs.
Adult Body Length Female 6cm Male 5cm
Foodplants Eucalyptus
Notes
They are a delicate species, care should be taken when moving nymphs. We currently only have a parthenogenetic population, so only have females available.
These stick insects originate from around Woonona, NSW. They differ from the southern Queensland populations being smaller and more robust, with shorter legs.
Due to similarities with Candovia species especially while immature, this species should not be kept with other Candovia species. They can be easily mixed up and can be hard to seperate apart.
