Garradunga Stick insect Sipyloidea garradungensis
Sold as juveniles – Captive Bred
A small Sipyloidea species, similar in superficial appearance to Sipyloidea rentzi but can be differentiated by its shorter wings.
Adult Body Length Female 6-7cm Male 5cm
Foodplants Syzygium and Guava (Psidium spp.)
Notes
Our Sipyloidea garradungensis originate from rainforests near Evelyn, QLD.
Reported to feed on Rubus and Eucalytpus (Field Guide Stick and Leaf insects of Australia, 2009), we have not trialed this yet.
Due to similarities with Sipyloidea species especially while immature, this species should not be kept with other Sipyloidea species. They can be easily mixed up and can be hard to separate apart.
