Delicate Stick insect
Sipyloidea caeca
Sold as juveniles - Captive Bred
Sipyloidea caeca is a rather gracile and delicate species, they are prone to loosing legs when handled so care should be taken. Both the male and female can fly (although poorly) when mature, this means care needs to be taken when changing leaves.
Adult Body Length Female 6cm Male 4cm
Foodplants Eucalyptus, Syzygium and Guava (Psidium spp.)
Notes
Our Sipyloidea caeca originate from rainforests near Kuranda, QLD.
Siplyoidea caeca can fly and as there name implies are quite delicate. When handling extra care should be taken.
Due to similarities with Sipyloidea species especially while immature, this species should not be kept with other Sipyloidea species. They can be easily mixed up and can be hard to seperate apart.
